Five Fountain Patterns in One Unit!
The Great Lakes Fountain from Scott Aerator Company offers a versatile and attractive water feature that supports pond health. It includes five interchangeable brass nozzles that swap out easily without tools.
Each of the five patterns improves the look of your pond or lake while supporting a healthy aquatic environment by maintaining water clarity and oxygen levels. The Great Lakes Fountain is an environmentally friendly choice, featuring a stainless steel, oil-free, submersible motor and pump.
All Scott Aerator water features are designed to run without needing expensive and time-consuming winterization. Simply keep your fountain running, or turn off the power and leave it until spring. Once the water thaws, turn the power back on, and it's ready. All components can withstand freezing temperatures without damage.
Features:
- A beautiful layered pattern from the "Baystone" nozzle.
- A lovely cascading effect from the "Rosewood" nozzle.
- A wider cascading style from the "Tudor" nozzle.

Installation
1. Assemble The Unit
Assembling Scott Aerator Fountains takes approximately 15-20 minutes. Instructions are included. The kit contains:
- Pump with cylindrical casing and attached power cable
- Square float platform
- Protective stainless steel filter
- Decorative nozzle (not for the DA-20 model)
- 5/16"x2" stainless steel bolts
- Stainless steel nuts & washers
- Self-tapping stainless steel screws
Tools Needed: A wrench (or socket driver) and pliers.
Assembly Steps:
- Place the fountain housing on a stable surface with the pump discharge facing upward.
- Attach nylon rope (not included) to the two stainless steel eyebolts for anchoring.
- Position the float and secure it using the provided bolts, washers, and nuts.
- Invert the fountain, remove the Styrofoam doughnut, and install the stainless steel filter, aligning the pre-drilled holes. Secure the filter with the provided screws.
2. Attach Lights (Skip if no lights were ordered)
Scott Aerator light kits attach easily to the square float platform and include:
- (2) or (4) LED light fixtures with power cable
- 1/2" bolts & nuts
- (2) or (4) stainless steel arm brackets
- Timer/control unit
- Remote control (only for color-changing lights)
Tools Needed: Wrench & Pliers
*Note: The included timer/control unit is necessary for light operation. Do not disconnect the cord from the control unit, as this will void the warranty.
Assembly Steps:
- Attach each arm assembly to the water feature, ensuring the arms are oriented with āLā facing upward. Remove one of the 2" bolts securing the float and align the holes with the stainless steel arm. Reinsert the bolt with washer through the housing, float, and arm, securing with washer and nut. Repeat for remaining arms.
- Attach each light to the stainless steel arms, securing with bolts and nuts. Adjust the lights along the arm as needed.
- Connect the lights to the Timer Control Unit by aligning pins and securing the connector with a half turn. Avoid overtightening to prevent damage.
3. Place in Water
- Once assembled, the unit is ready for placement in water for final adjustments and anchoring.
- Handle the fountain carefully to avoid putting weight on the stainless steel filter.
- Once the fountain head is submerged, secure it in place (not for the DA-20 model).
- Float the fountain to the desired location and secure the nylon ropes to the shore or use two concrete blocks submerged at least 20 feet apart.
- Finally, plug in your fountain and lights to the power source. Always use a ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) and consult a licensed electrician for installation.
Buying Guide
Choosing Horsepower
- Horsepower impacts the size and flow rate of the fountain's spray. Higher horsepower moves more water, resulting in a larger or thicker spray.
- Selecting horsepower depends on your budget and pond size. A good guideline is to maintain at least 10 feet between the fountain spray and the pond's edge.
Choosing Voltage
- If unsure: Contact us.
- If using 115V power, be aware of the maximum distances from pump to breaker (including the power cord).
- For 230V, distance is generally not a concern.
Motor Size | Max distance from pump to breaker on 115V |
1/3 HP 115V | 280' |
1/2 HP 115V | 250' |
3/4 HP 115V | 200' |
1 HP 115V | 150' |
Choosing LED Lights (Optional)
- Add lights now or at a later time. Light kits attach easily to the float.
- Lights operate on 110V and have their own power cord.
- Options include single-color warm white LED lights or color-changing LED lights.
- Both options include a programmable timer, and the color-changing lights come with a remote control that works up to 1,000 feet away.
- 2-light sets are suggested for 1 HP and smaller units.
- 3-light sets are suggested for 1.5 HP and 2 HP units.
- 4-light sets are suggested for 3 HP units.
Choosing Timers (Optional)
- Purchase timers now or add them later.
- Timers control only the fountain operation, not the lights.
- FAQ: The residential timer is plastic, the commercial is metal, but their function is the same.
