This Faux Basalt Column Fountain Kit includes three impressive columns in different heights: 24 inches (61 cm), 30 inches (76 cm), and 36 inches (91 cm). The kit provides everything needed for a complete, self-contained fountain that looks like real basalt. Each column is handmade in the USA using molds from actual basalt and a mix of fiberglass, resin, and natural stone for a realistic and long-lasting finish.

Unlike heavy and difficult-to-move real basalt, these faux columns are light, making setup easy. Each column has a stable base that is simple to secure with decorative gravel. The included tubing and fittings connect easily to the top of the fountain. For better visual appeal, consider adding a color-changing or warm white Fountain Light (#84072, #84008 sold separately) to light up the water flow.

The kit features the AquaBasin® 45, an underground water reservoir holding up to 98 gallons. Made from tough high-density polyethylene with a lifetime warranty, this basin offers easy access for the pump, specific spots for plumbing and lighting, and good water circulation. An energy-saving Ultra 2000 Water Pump is also included to power the fountain's water flow.

The basin allows for simple pump access, dedicated areas for plumbing and lights, and ensures optimal water circulation. The kit includes an energy-efficient Ultra 2000 Water Pump to move water through the fountain.

Common Questions

How are the Faux Basalt Columns made?

These columns are made by hand using fiberglass sheets, resin, and stone aggregate.

What if the surface gets damaged or chipped?

Surfaces can be fixed easily with common items like:

  • Black shoe polish
  • Permanent marker
  • Outdoor paint (Chocolate brown and Lamp black)

What plumbing options are there?

Each column comes with 3/4″ flexible tubing and a small clear fitting. This fitting can be swapped for one of the Aquascape Fountain Lights to light up the water outlet. For more water flow, the column can fit 1″ Schedule 40 PVC pipe.

Can I secure the base in public or windy areas?

The columns are built to handle normal conditions, and gravel is usually enough for stability. However, for extra security, you can drill through the fiberglass base and anchor it to the surface using hardware or zip ties.

Can the base be changed for custom use?

YES! The base can be cut to fit into smaller spaces using a grinder or Sawzall. Make sure to wear proper eye and breathing protection when cutting fiberglass. Note: If parts of the base are removed, ensure the columns are well supported and secured during installation.
